This is a remake from yesterday. I got the old Fiddler's Fakebook out after Dick Hauser suggested that it needed some more work. I appreciate Dick's commitment to making sure I get better.
This is a British Isle tune.

I think that the second version better captures the sound of a hornpipe. In my case, I had problems getting this hornpipe to sound right. Other hornpipes like Harvest Home, Cincinatti Hornpipe, etc. seemed to be fairly easy to play and capture the "feel" of a hornpipe.
In her book/CD "Fiddling Demystified", the author (Donna Hebert) recommends working on a version of Fisher's Hornpipe that emphasizes the "off/up beat". So I have been working on emphasizing the 3rd or 4th, and 7th or 8th notes of the 2/4 time measure for most measures in the first part.
Donna's version doesn't use many slurs. But notice that the notes that get emphasized (3 and 7) are the same tunes that get the down bow before the 3 note slurs in the Georgia shuffle. I just thought about that. When I sign out, I am going to try using the Georgia shuffle for this tune.
