You sound really good for someone who has only played for such a short period of time. Are you self taught or do you have an instructor ? If you have an instructor, tell that person he/she is doing a good job.

Thanks for the kind words,as a matter of fact,i just had my first lesson with a new teacher,,she is number 4,,the last three were good players, but not so good teachers,,i think with a few months under her wing,i might have a chance,,,also i have a gig every other week,,big paying gig at 30.00 a night,,the lessons are 40.00,,so that works out about right,,for starving musician's pay.,i played steel at the same gig for 2 years for free,,we do 6-8 bluegrass tunes, then folks get up and sing whatever,,so the bacup is harder than the bluegrass,,,also it's pretty close to nasnville,,hoot hester showed up one night and jamed,he's also a great guitar picker, right now the E double stops are killing me,,and it seems like the faster stuff is easier than the slow stuff, steel was like that at one point,,i only have 6 years on steel, wish i had started fiddle at the same time,,oh boy!!! thanks again.
