Can someone record that tune for me.

I need to learn it in D I guess?

Thank you :)

Here you go, Willy...but you have to listen to a couple of minutes of Ol Joe Clark first...then June Apple. And it is in A.

Not our best practice recording, but since you requested it, here it is. By the way, in the low b part of June Apple, there is a nice F#/A double-stop that I stole from Dan Levenson when we were having a session at Winfield a few years ago. Thanks, FiddleDan.

I usually see/hear June Apple in a mixolydian key. The key signature is A, but all the G notes have naturals in front of them. When playing in this key, you feel like it is in the key of D, but the rhythm players play in the key of A.

I've got it by the Eelpouts in "A" over at BHO. Here's a link. Scroll down to find it.

I like your version, Craig. Mighty fine! I don't know where mine came from.
BTW, I play a very unusual version of "Georgia Railroad" (I just listened to yours).
I'll post it soon.

I just uploaded June Apple to my FHO page. Played at-tempo (more or less) and slowed down. Hope this helps people who want to learn the tune.

2 things I'd like on my headstone: He loved his wife and he loved playing the fiddle.

There you go, Willy....three different versions....the same tune, but very different interpretations.
That's why fiddling is so creative.
