Has anyone here tried the above named fiddle from Musician's Friend? It would be my first one. I'm interested in playing old time and possibly blues
The bow that it comes with is not described at the web site. Is the fact that it comes with "super sensitive red label" strings a bad sign? Could I count on it being properly set up?
We have a "really fine" violin store in town, but I couldn't see any evidence that they knew much about fiddles. In fact, when I visited the store they gave me the name of a teacher--and I found out enough to think he might not be the best fiddle teacher (I'm sure he's a very fine classical violinist, but probably doesn't have interest in songs like Arkansas Traveler like I do).
Anyway, thank you for your thoughts on this fiddle.
-Bill
