I also went over to CDBaby, found the Humdinger's CD, and listened to some tracks - I'm buying it.
They don't sound like a "revivalist" band. They sound like the real thing...

Good question, Bosco -- it looks like a square to me, but I suppose it could be a Contra. I will ask them. But yes, it was at the Bloomington Dance Weekend in September 1993.
And OTJ, to your point, yes, for my money, it just don't get much closer to the real sound than those particular guys and a gal from Bloomington. I think you will enjoy the CD.

For some reason I am unable to view the video- probably blocked here at work.
Perhaps it was at the Sugar Hill Dance Weekend? This is a dance weekend, like several others in the Midwest, that started as parties that eventually morphed into organized dance weekends. I'm going to another of these this coming weekend- Breaking Up Thanksgiving in Williams Bay, WI (see events).
But I digress- I agree that you don't get much better than the Humdingers!
