So.. A few years ago I received a call from an organizer of a weekend Dance ..(Sugar Hill, in Indiana).. They said that they found a banjo I had made and wanted to know if I knew who owned it..(my name was on a plaque on the inside of the rim).. Yep.. I knew who I sold it to and that person was SO surprised to learn that she had left her banjo at the dance.. Someone could have taken it and we'd never have heard from it again..! Anyway, OT people tend to be honest....
Another time I was busking at the Lotus Festival in Bloomington, Indiana.. I'd gone riding my bike because I knew that parking would be an issue.. When I got home...The festival organizer called me and said that I'd left my fiddle in the case sitting on the sidewalk.. I didn't even notice that it was missing.. a policeman picked it up and took it to the organizer who knew me well... Anybody could have taken it and that would have been the end of it..The policeman brought the fiddle to my door after he learned whose it was..
Now, YOUR stories about honesty?

I had a similar experience with my musical washboard!!! I'd left the car door unlocked hoping somone would take my washboard but instead brought me another... I was doomed.

Once apon a time, Yes. A group of friends gather round and . . . . . no bow.
I was meeting a guy in a food court after busking, one time. We went to his office to talk (long story). After twenty minutes or so, I suddenly realized I'd left my little Pignose amp behind; I'd put it on the floor by our table in the food court. I rushed back; it was gone. I went over to the closest fast-food stall - and sure enough, they had it; someone had brought it over to them to hang onto, in case I came back.
As my high school principal was quoted as saying, in our yearbook: "There's always a little good in somebody!" - which struck me a pretty sunny view of humanity ... !
