Not a spring chicken, thinking about when the time comes that I can no longer manage my website, fiddletunes.net. I don't know anybody who would want to take it on.

Have others here with a website considered how to pass theirs along? Lots of people from around the world use mine. Lots of work has gone into it. Be a shame for it to disappear someday.

So far, just a passing thought.

I would be honored to manage it if no one else steps up to do it.

Thanks! I'll emphasize I'm not facing impending doom as far as I know. I'm 74 and in good health.

That's possible, maybe. I recently looked at some of my old pages to see how things have changed. Online archives don't necessarily save the whole web site with media files. I just double checked that, and the files aren't saved on Wayback Machine, just the main page. I don't know about other archives.

Could probably save them yourself to the Internet Archive. I know someone uploaded to there a recording of one of the bands I've been in. Seems like it's open to the public to upload.

It’s difficult to predict how to make a website future-proof with large changes in technology and as formats seem to become less backward compatible. One thought might be to save all the files for the tunes hierarchically into a cloud storage app like Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox so that they could be accessed by those you trust to put them up on a webpage.

Finding someone younger with experience building and maintaining websites is a good option as well, if you can find someone who has the interest in old time and the willingness to dedicate time to managing the site and updating it as needed.
