Don't worry...it's gonna play nice with the fiddles too...just haven't had much time yet.

This thing is flatout FUN to play!

It sounds great, Peggy. I thought you might have gotten a big Baby, which is the only smaller Taylor I've seen, but the GS seems very popular and well liked these days. It has a pretty short scale - do you find that hard to get used to, or more comfortable?

It's very comfortable and just plays smooth...the only word I can think for it. Yet, I do tend to slide up too far if I'm not careful...at times my chording goes out of fret, so to speak too...it is a difference in that way. But if you keep that in mind, your hands stay where they need to and it's just a great playing experience. I gave my old favorite, the old Alvarez, that of course I stole from my son-in-law...and was once my favorite...I gave it back to them...this is definitely my new favorite. I do feel like I need to play the dreadnoughts between playing times with this one though...or else I might feel too stretched when I play those. I borrowed a baritone guitar from a friend for about six months one time...it was a similar situation with that...just lost half of what I wrote...doggone it... but what I was saying was it was the opposite situation with the baritone guitar. This guitar though, is really fun to play...I need a guitar like a hole in the head...if I'd never had a minute to sit down with it in the acoustic room of a music store while waiting for grandson, I mean...just playing it for 20 minutes in there I had to bring it home. It's really a pleasure to play. it has medium ( I guess...heavier than light gauge that I've always used) gauge strings on it and I'm bending them and just enjoying them too...so maybe I need to move away from light gauge. Too bad I've got a drawer full of them...lol. Anyway, I won't worry about string changing for a while...just enjoy every minute I can get with this thing. It's so nice to play.

OOO sounds so nice! I gotta git me one…
I’ve been looking for a “short scale” ever since I hurt my hand playing on my full-size classical.

You’re a bad influence, Peggy …LOL LOL. :-)

( Oh and sorry about the dog teeth...teeth are never cheap, for canines or humans! I got a crown coming this summer, ugh.)

Oh man, you would love this, NC...although don't tell your hubby I said that...lol. Don't wanna get you in trouble. They are really nice...fun for pickin', for sure.

As to the teeth...yeah ... I've had some crowns and don't understand why it is so expensive. The dog dentistry is even more expensive, seems to me. I wish we all had bunny teeth...the kind that just keep on growin' and all we'd have to do is file them down on a piece of the furniture...lol...I mean, I'd be ok living that way if I could buy more instruments...lol.

Yes that would be great!
“You have a cavity…but no worries, looks like this one will grow out in 3 months”…
Gnawing also seems like it would be great stress relief :-)

( teeth are always crazy expensive. We had to get our Guinea pig's teeth filed down because they got too long and curved, and he couldn't eat. Price tag at vet: $300.  Cost of piggy: $20. Sigh. )

ok sorry...back to music!

They sure are. I really bought this thing on a stupid mindless whim after picking it up and just playing for a few minutes. lol...I don't know much about all the particulars about what makes a guitar good or bad or whatever...all I know is when I pick one up and play it...either it's beautiful and kind to me, or it ain't much fun to play. I've picked up a few Taylors of various types over the decades, but never had the money to actually purchase one. This one, this time in my life...well...I've got credit cards now...lol...and normally I avoid music stores, but I walked into one and came out with this little guitar. It's really, really a pleasure to play. I hope I can get time to play it now...lol.
