I think this comes from Missouri fiddler (Iberia) Bill Caten. He was a black fiddler, and is also the source for Jeff City (if I remember right). This is a 3-parter in G. Listen for the pulsed bowing in the A part. I don't know if BC played it like that, I inserted that myself. Also at the beginning of the first B part I almost went into another tune that's very similar sounding, so that's what happened there. I think I made the save.

For info about Bill Katon, check out Christesen's "Old Time Fiddler's Repertory". Katon was from the Tebbetts area, just east of Jefferson City, along the Missouri River. In the 1920's he performed on WOS radio which had studios in the state capitol. One of two well known African American fiddlers of that era in Missouri, the other being Bill Driver, from around Iberia.
