Hello fellow fiddle folk!
I started listing fiddles for sale on here years ago now, and for several years, I sold about a fiddle a month, sometimes two.
But this year, I have not sold One! My fiddles are priced low, and are good, solid instruments.
I noticed that mine are almost the only ones under $1k, and yet I get No inquiries or sales.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Thank you for your consideration,
Glenn

It’s been hit or miss this year. Of the violins and bows I’ve sold this year, the majority have been outside the site.
I think there are likely fewer members on this site who are looking to purchase instruments than on other violin-related forums, so the selection of buyers is necessarily limited. A lot of the activity on other forums comes from players who like to collect or switch instruments or parents of young musicians who are looking for suitable instruments for upgrading.
It’s ironic in a way—forums like Maestronet and Violinist.com have many members who are in the market for instruments, but they are strictly set up so that selling instruments or advertising through posts is not permitted, whereas here there is no prohibition from making sales pitches or selling directly on the site through its own classified section, but there aren’t as many active members looking.
