OK I made some progress I think, in between finding myself a new job and deep cleaning the house ;-D

The key for me seems to be :

1) FOCUS and CONCENTRATE
2) Do NOT overdo the double strings thing, playing single string is nice also !

This is me this early morning, fiddle in D#A#D#A#, for who was wondering.

My dog adores this tune!

That was sweet. I've never heard that one before, not that I can recall right now, but sure has that familiar, Old Time lonely sound. I liked how you fiddled it...tuning just perfect and I think it sounded great with just one string ringing out. Very nice, Anja! Looks like it's a calming lullaby for doggie. Thanks for sharing. Nice, nice job.

I enjoyed listening Anja! Such a sweet sad sound, brings out the simple beauty of the tune.

( and your Ziva sword video came up after that… amazing dog training! She has such a good attitude and joy! )

Thanks guys ! I think this time I need a trip to the luthier. The bridge seems like it's bending too much towards the top of the violin. I broke my E string and thought I had replaced it with a spare one, but might have been an A string, I removed it. Time for some E string experimenting.

Have your luthier show you how to straighten than on your own, he sure shouldn't charge you for something you can definitely do yourself.

Fine work Anja!
Indeed, overuse of double stops, one looses the drama, when/if one wishes to use them for drama. For instance, at the end of a phrase. Nice!

Totally lovely! Sweet tone. You inhabit the tune. You tell its story. And let me tell ya' it's tough to play that slowly. In other words, excellent bowing.

Wow thank you very much guys, very nice to read this ;)
I am still a bit in doubt about my bridge, suddenly it looks more normal... maybe it was just panic? The good news is I found an E string on my Stagg instrument and here we go, my fiddle sounds way more open with it, I love what it did to the overall sound <3

A trip to the luthier is on my mind since a while however, not only to have a close look at my set up and for a cleaning. My favorite bow, the codabow Joule was rehaired by him but the small piece of wood where the hair starts sometimes moves up , for now I pushed it back and it seems to hold well but I think I should be able to tighten this bow more than what is possible at the moment. But it still plays better than all of my three other bows ...

Right now experimenting with Golden Slippers.... tuned back to C#G#C#G# !!

Maybe one day I should get myself a viola also hehe. Or maybe this IS just also part of the fiddle fun :-D
