Did you go to OT week?
There are so many different ones… song, banjo, guitar, Celtic…
I have several session friends who went to Celtic week. Taking workshops with the likes of John Doyle and Mari Black…yes I was envious! And ha, my spare bow went without me…another fiddler whose bow broke, borrowed it for the Gathering…
Hope you had a great time!

Yes I meant to say OT week, but I'm sure they were all a blast! I was a bit zoned in.
Those workshops were pretty incredible, I brought home so much to work with! I'd sure love to wander down streets with dreamy sounds of solo fiddlers or jams coming from the trees - the Warren Wilson campus kind of gave you the feel of both worlds, like a small town in the woods. At least your spare bow got to experience it!

That would definitely be fun to take a dip in a bunch!
Well, here is my slightly humorous Swannanoa story…
Me: ok Have fun at Swannanoa!!
Him ( awesome guitar/mando player): thanks! I am just afraid of the bears…
Me: pshaw, there won’t be bears! But maybe just be careful with leaving any food outside?
After return:
Me: (totally joking) so, Any bears?
him: (totally serious) three times! One was right across the parking lot! I tried not to look at it, and got in my car fast.
So yes…there are bears?! It’s a lot more rural than I thought, up there!(now I feel kind of bad for joking around and not taking his concern seriously! )
But yes sounds like a great educational and fun experience, kd!
I've only been to Swannanoa once, to play a master musician session with Lee Sexton. At night it really is kind of a dreamy musical carnival, with the lights and canopies.
After a few jam session with old friends I ran into this bunch - glad I still remembered some of my high school German. "High, low, jack - game!"
