Here we are, playing pirate on the Delaware State tall ship, Kalmar Nyckel, for a private sail. Fun to be playing actual period music for a crew who is doing actual work setting sails etc.

Looks like fun! But shouldn't you be playing a nyckelharpa?

Looks like "period" music would be 17th century.

Right , if the 'period' is the actual ship, the original Kalmar Nyckle was built in the 1620's and is of course Swedish in origin. "Golden Age of Piracy' is later, like 1680-1720 or so.

Looks like fun, Al, although having pirates peacefully aboard a vessel seems incongruous. Our band had a gig playing (on dry land) when the Tall Ships visited Baltimore's Inner Harbor for the Bicenntenial in 1976. We had made friends with a booking agent in Baltimore who got us some interesting jobs, including that one.
