Today I received my refurbished cheap ass Thinkpad , this time ordered from a decent refurbished company located in Belgium.
My former Thinkpad was a refurbished C grade device from a Dutch company, it was a wild bet and died pretty soon, the dog had something to do with it though. If the case corner were not already broken it would have probably survived the dog's actions and the fall to the ground that followed. But ok , this is just side information.
To my surprise my 'new' Thinkpad has a battery that according to the Lenovo Vantage app has been charged only 54 times so far. It is a professional device that has been used by a company before I bought it and it is spotless and still looks brand new.
Finally I can get back to my Michael Ismerio course, I missed that course so much! And finally I can use kdenlive again for slowing down and cutting up tunes in repeated selections, so that I can practice my new tunes thoroughly and ofcourse I will also install Audacity to play with effects. It is also a lot more fun to read and post here on FHO and to search YouTube for the good stuff ;-) For months I only had my smartphone.
I feel relief, because smartphones are just really bad for my mood disorder... they make me grumpy, cause unnecessary techno stress and I always call them dumbphones , because I really still cannot understand what is so smart about a device like that. Too tiny and time robbing they are and a waste of good time and it sucks when you have to work with a smartphone contineously to get online.
In fact the main reason I bought this Thinkpad is because I will slowly start searching for a job that pays better and where they can offer me a contract from day one. Really like my job, like my colleagues, the fact that I work 99% from home , the international context of the main project, I learned a lot more French, I am never bored but I received my tax letter and on a yearly base my wage is just dramatically low lol. I can do better than this!
Better wage will give me more options also for my fiddle hobby.
All hope is on this Thinkpad now. It has a cute 12.5 inch screen, very handy.
Needless to say my current mood is peaking again, so please take that into account , I know I can sound very grotesque when I am peaking, but hey that is just me. I peak a lot hehe , more than some can handle, but it works well if you are learning an instrument.

I say Ubuntu to beat the techno stress :D I have a love/ hate relationship with that cyber universe hehe. On the one hand it brings me treasures I would have never gotten closer to if there had been no internet at all (fiddling! and making connections easily, but that is like somewhat related to a ham radio/cb pirate thing) on the other hand I feel like we are somewhat doomed now ;-)
