What do y'all think of this transcription of an Aubrey Haynie fiddle break? This is "Julie" by Shannon Slaughter.

Hey Hunter I'm not qualified to judge the accuracy of that opening run--it goes by way too fast for me to catch it--but the rest of the transcription looks pretty good. Leaving aside the standard notation vs. tab issue (I've used both in the past but prefer standard for fiddle and mandolin these days), I often find transcriptions easier to read when they're in cut time (2/2) and have 8 eighth notes per measure. Your transcription is in 4/4 and has 16 sixteenth notes per measure. It's harder for me to read when there are more notes in a measure, plus on your transcription one measure takes up an entire line.
I have some fiddle books with transcriptions in 4/4 (some Stacy Phillips' books, the Annie Staninec bluegrass book), but I find those harder to read.
I think Jack Tuttle's fiddle transcriptions are particularly good, for example: jacktuttle.wpengine.com/wp-con...nLove.pdf
Or for a song with tab: jacktuttle.wpengine.com/wp-con...Place.pdf
