Coffee, birds, squirrels, rabbits, dogs, etc., and the view from the front porch...which Is basically on the road...lol. Coffee with guitar in hand...Blackbird. Made with new Macbook Pro...supposed to be easy, but I feel like I was run through the wringer! Anyway here's as good as I could do. https://youtu.be/PfhJw4dnftM?si=o19wQGazuby6XG2C

So lovely (both guitar and pics)!
and totally uplifted my morning mood! :-)
Nice pic of your dog, looking like they are thinking about drinking coffee…
And peaceful nature sounds. Here we have been overwhelmed by the loud hum of the cicadas for a few weeks…sounded like a jungle outside…but they’ve mostly gone underground again now…strange little critters…

Thanks, everyone.
Erockin, have a cup of coffee on your porch today!
Thanks, Loy...technology is a blessing and a struggle both at the same time...lol.
NC, we were supposed to get those cicadas but "they" called it off...lol...presumably scientists or media, but I'm sure it was actually the cicadas, themselves, that decided not to show. They are interesting critters, aren't they? I don't know how it would feel to spend almost a decade in the dark ground sucking out tree root sap, only to come above ground long enough to lay eggs and die...lol...I wish I could talk to them and see what they think about that. Maybe it's a wonderful life, being a cicada...lol...I don't know. Anyway, thanks for listenin' to the ol' groundhog when I've got cicada competition!
Well I just searched for groundhog freight trains and found these...
here's one from 16 years ago, when I was a baby...lol...I had borrowed this big ol' baritone guitar one of my best friends I used to jam around with back home in SE KY... he let me keep it for about a month and that sucker was downright hard to play...so I tried my most demanding version of Freight Train on it... youtu.be/PN_jiRsISlY?si=NA8-OsWRwx8GCzg0
then I guess 11 years ago i sat down with this takemeni (sp?) that broke apart on me a couple years after I'd bought it...it was the one I played in the bluegrass band...anyway, apparently I just sat down one day and played a simple version of Freight Train on that before it tore apart...lol... https://youtu.be/DN6bsS9Fltc?si=PE5BzdJSa2yweVRP
Then came the age of Presonus so I put a few tracks on this one and also sang along with groundhog... https://youtu.be/OR7P28KyUR8?si=2YMo9SDLOIw2McYK
then I guess a while back I put another multi track, picking only version on presonus...

I guess that's the only ones I've put on youtube, but I've played Freight Train for probably 60 years now...been a lot of porch pickin' and pot luck supper pickin' with that one...lol...it's a good 'un. Freight Train is just a well-loved classic, ain't it?

The Takamine (thanks for that sp correction...lol) was what I bought for the band, so I could hook up to sounds systems and still be heard fingerpicking...that didn't really work out as planned because they mainly wanted me to just slam out chords...lol...which didn't require hooking up to a sound system. Then when I dropped out of the band, I fired up the persons and liked it that I could hook into that and have a singing mic going too...but once the thing blew out and looking up how much it would cost to fix...too much for me...so I set the thing aside and about that time inherited/stole...lol...a little Alvarez that's basically worthless on the market...but I wouldn't take a million dollars for it...my son-in-law was holding onto it since college for a buddy that went west, after a long while with it and him marrying our daughter, having a son and a lot of dogs in a small household, they finally asked if the guitar could live here...lol...well I ain't ever given it back...I love that guitar.
Peggy, I just looked at some accounts of how to repair Takamine electronics and I can see how it might be expensive, and a complicated DIY project.
Very nice video, music and images both. My only suggestion might be to explore the transition options in your video editor, and see if there's something that might be a little smoother and better match the mood of the photos.
I've got a few short videos I shot years ago that I've thought of adding music to - maybe I'll get to it someday.
