I found this fiddle, I hadn't played for a while. It's a Sebastián Goetz, Maggini. (Y'know, double purffling) Not terribly valuable, but to me with it's backstory. It belonged to a dear departed friend. Our luthier friend, still living, sold it to him. I, in turn, purchased it from his widow. So, I guess I'm the custodian now. I think it has a nice tone. Old, still good, Prim strings.
About the tune: Our jam shyed away from C tunes, as a few members didn't like to play in C. This tune has a brief trip to the F chord, so it was sort of passable. Another dear departed friend played mandolin on this tune, and it was grand! It wasn't like Bill Monroe at all. It was his version. Call me sentimental. When these tunes remind me of days gone by. Jams of the past. Lucky to have the experiences at all.
