I've got two fiddles here that are very nicely built by a formerly local builder, but the setups just aren't to my liking. One of them I haven't touched, and the other one I kind of butchered the setup trying to fix it myself.

Is there anyone near Glenville, West Virginia who is super good at fiddle setup?

There are some good local fiddlers in the Glenville area, you should check with them.

There are lots of players throughout West Virginia but unfortunately not many luthiers. Your best bet would be to drive to a bigger city out of state or ship instruments out. You have to shell out a little for shipping but the results are well worth it if you do.

I work with a number of customers who live in "luthiery deserts" and either drive and make it a chance for a trip to the DC area or ship things.

Bob Smakula's shop in Elkin's would be the best move IMO.
