Missouri fiddler, Bob Holt, played a dance one night, and he had come to the end of a tune. A gentleman walked up to him and asked him what the name of that tune was. Bob replied that it was the 8th of January, to which the gentleman roared "(paraphrasing) I know the 8th of January, and that ain't it!" So then Bob growled (again paraphrasing) "Alright! It's the 9th of January then!"
