Earworm - I hate to be a nitpicker, but since you mentioned the tuning GDAE, have you heard the recording of Marcus Martin playing the "Pigsfoot" tune? Its in concert Ab, but is usually described as crosstuned, and from the resonance of the fiddle that seems right to me (also there are two fiddles playing, IIRC also his son (?). Its interesting that for some tunes in this key family he apparently crosstuned, and not for others. I don't play this one, but I play his "Sugar in the Gourd," which I think is in GDAE. slippery-hill.com/content/sugar-gourd-0
