I found this Old Time tune called The Snowstorm which I really like and today I tried to slow it down and find out the notes and bowing. I'm making progress but I'm not quite there yet. The version I found is by a band called Hog Eyed Man (named after another fiddle tune, I highly recommend this band if you're into old time fiddle). Here's the tune on Youtube: youtube.com/watch?v=sSFEeoiIpq...Man-Topic
As far as I can hear it, it's in standard tuning in the key of C.
The thing is, I only found one other version of this tune by Allison de Groot & Tatiana Hargreaves (those two I recommend even more if you don't already know them!). Their version got some kind of Major/Minor thing going on which is pretty neat. youtube.com/watch?v=l1QnzTq1j7...ves-Topic
I looked everywhere but I can't find another version of The Snowstorm. In the description to De Groot's and Hargreaves version, it says "composer: traditional" but I haven't found any older recordings.
Does any of you know another version of this tune or do you know anything about its origins?
