I'm new to all of this. What is this TablEdit I keep seeing? In the learning section I click on Tab and it pulls up sheet music but no tab. But I also see TablEdit. Do I need to download TablEdit to be able to transpose into Tabs? Is it free? Is it easy to use? I've never heard of it...

Here's their website: tabledit.com/
Note that it says its for creating tablature for guitar and oher FRETTED instruments, although it's been adapted for violin and other instruments like tin whistle.
Although tablature has a long history for use with lute and guitar (although I think most music for classical and jazz guitar has been published in standard notation) most music for violin, including fiddle, has been written in standard notation. This is partly because the violin has no frets, but also because standard notation is much more versatile and can convey more information.

Tabledit is not free. Tefview, which is free, lets you view tabledit files. In tabledit, there is an option the lets you display tab, notation, or both. IMHO, tabledit's help option doesn't actually help that much.
