from my ol' hippie days...lol...not really, but I used to play this one when I was the official one and only balladeer at the ol' Steak House down the road a piece. Bob Dylan song...not sure when or where I first came into contact with this one, but seems I've just known it my whole life...sang it in the broad mix of guitar and voice ballads I used to do at the steak house and i don't remember singing it since then...mid 70s...maybe i have here and there...but I don't remember doing it since then. Anyhow...I would put a fiddle part on there, but being in C...I didn't have it in me to try...back when I sang at the steak house I owned only a Fender dreadnought...so the banjo part and other vocals did not exist for me then. Here we go...plug yer ears...

You were 8 when Bob wrote it in 1962, according my arithmetic. Love the duet.

Oh that's weird...my math might calculate dfferently ... amazing to think my birthdate might be out there...but the year you have is wrong...lol.

I'm thinking the way I process music mentally might be weirder than a lot of others...so it's probably not a good idea for me to comment on it...lol...that's how a person opens themselves up to a lot of ... I don't wanna say argument, but maybe just too much probing into details and parsing...if that makes sense...lol...oh gosh...the internet is such a big pain...yet...so is the real life isolation...what do ya do?  Have to do some figgurin on that.

Peggy, on your homepage here your age is listed as 69. THIS IS FROM INFORMATION YOU PROVIDED WHEN YOU SET UP YOUR PROFILE. It is not amazing, or that the Internet is a "big pain." You are so chatty that you've revealed far more about yourself than anyone else on this forum (I think), possibly without realizing it.
So you probably were born in 1954, depending on the month. Bob Dylan wrote and recorded "Blowing in the Wind" in 1962, although the LP wasn't released until 1963, so you were eight or nine. I was immersed in "folk music" at that time, and I remember it well - probably still remember the words, although I don't need to. Your "hippie days" were probably a decade or so later.

Doug...I thought it was just common knowledge that one should never reveal their birthdate online...I usually put incorrect dates and other info on sites to protect my privacy...so, no I was not born in 1954, sorry to disappoint any of those who have checked or bothered to make a note of it...lol...in other words...don't send birthday presents...lol...I also protect my geographical location, and have good reasons for doing so, in spite of so many "guesses' here over the years. And, well sorry again, but I wasn't a Bob Dylan fan at any point in my life...lol...probably just heard it while in college or somewhere. I've never purposely listened...sorry, Mr. Dylan...but not just Dylan...I'm just not a listener...I have to play to enjoy music, or just be busy doing something...can't sit still long enough to just listen. I'm just not a fan of anybody's, really...just a fan of getting to play music, listening only to get more ideas from people who know what they're doing. Hoping someday maybe I'll get good, but in the meantime, I'm happy just to play, much more than just to listen to professional musicians...they're good, but I'm just not a listener. There ya go...all the TMI I can muster up for today. Have a great Father's Day...but y'all don't have to tell me if you have kids or not...lol...just have a happy Father's Day either way...ok...'nuff for today.
