Tax his land, tax his wage,
Tax his Bible, ev'ry page.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his boots, tax his shirt,
Tax his labor, and tax his dirt.

Tax his chew, tax his smoke,
Teach him taxes are no joke.
Tax his truck, tax his grass,
Tax the roads that he must pass.

Tax his food, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his Cokes, tax his beers,
If he cries, then tax his tears.

Tax his bills, tax his gas,
Tax his notes, tax his cash.
Tax him hard and let him know
That after tax, he has no dough.

Tax his sunshine, tax his name
Tax his firewood and the flame.
Tax his timber he won't reap,
Tax the time he spends asleep.

Tax his water, tax his air,
EPA must have their share
When he tries to ease the pain,
We'll turn around and tax his rain.

If he hollers, tax him more,
Tax him 'til he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he's laid.

Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom!"
And when he's gone, we won't relax,
We'll confiscate inheritance tax.

Wow, reading that was ....taxing...
Personally, I'm a believer in reincarnation.. soze I'll get to return and be taxed again and again.. I'd like to have to pay $1,000,000 in taxes every year but would also like to have the income that requires such tax payments..!! How different would our world be if there were no taxes? Don't suppose I'll ever find out.......

Hahahahaha , this comment made my day. And these lyrics even more. It reads like a good protest song.

Flat_the_3rd_n7th  that is a great text, we are getting taxed more and more as well, we are all just modern slaves.

I don't mind paying taxes. I wish less of my tax dollars were spend on making bombs and more was spent on maintaining and updating roads, bridgies, hospitals, fire stations, schools and wastewater treatment plants.

2024 bump.

Nothing good seems to happen on Apr 15th. Titanic sinks, Boston Marathon bombing, and so on.

It's a good time of year to have a quick check on whether the tuning pegs are moving smoothly if you haven't lately. Indoor humidity is changing and you might spare yourself some expensive damage.

Not a robot!

boxbow has offered very good advice. Its pouring rain here and the humidity in the house has gone from a comfortable 49% to 59%, close to the upper desireable RH for people and instruments.
A quick check now is a very good idea. Of course there's always pliers...and a hammer....

I don't mind paying taxes either...I mean, who's gonna buy all the stuff we need and use all the time, if we don't all chip in and pay for it.

It used to bother me that so much went into the bombs and such, and I guess I'm a pretty much born pacifist, really...whether I like it or not...but here lately, seems since the WWII generation has all just about gone by now...we're watching the world set up in very similar ways as to what led up to that war...and as much as I hate all that...I think if we don't have the bombs and all that deadly military stuff in massive amounts, we could end up in a heap of trouble. I wish it weren't true...I really wish the Easter Bunny was in charge...just hop around giving us all chocolate and happiness...I'd like to buy the world a Coke and all that...but...well, that's the way it is, as Walter Cronkite used to say...that's the way it is.

But I'm willing to do my share with the taxes...I really wish the big wealthy dudes would be required to pay their share too...that would help us all out quite a bit if they would.

When I see a nice and expensive car drive by I remind myself that it really is MINE, but I just let some other guy make the payments and pay the sales tax and registration fees and gas taxes.. and in return I let him drive and maintain MY car...

Yeah, intereting view...lol...and when I put my car on the road I remind myself my taxes are helping us all pay for what we need to use...lol...or else go somewhere where the road is rutted out, rocky, and either undriveable or flatout tear up your vehicle...lol...I ain't talkin' 'bout potholes either. They're just a mild nuisance on drivable roads. But they do get out and try to keep them maintained...somebody's paying those guys to get out there and fix 'em. But if you need the cops or fire department (except in TN, where you have to subscribe to fire department coverage or they won't put your fire out) or just a lot of other things we don't think about. I know some folks get upset that food stamps go to the poor with "their" tax dollars, but all I can say about that is thank you to anyone who was paying taxes while we were working hard at our jobs, paying taxes too, and relying on our food stamps and WIC to keep our daughter fed. And I'm sure the people who need the help now would say thanks if they knew how you struggle to pay your taxes and help keep their kids fed too. Yeah, there is fraud, and there's fraud at all income levels too...just forget about the fraud and pay your share is all we can do about that.
