Nice fiddling. I like that tune too! Is that one commonly played in Belgium?

I have no idea, our band wanted to play this one, so I guess it is known well enough. It was not my idea.

Yes, pretty tune and nice playing!

Feel like we should learn some Belgian folk tunes in return :-)

Anja - That's nice. I was stacking up my pocket change the other day and one of the piles of nickels was a little short, and when I investigated one of the coins was a 1970 Belgian franc! Guess I'll just add it to my collection of souvenirs. I think that's as close as I'm likely to get to playing Belgian folk music!
Here's a version I have of this song. I actually tried this for Groundhog peggy, but I don't think it inspired her much!

BTW - I posted that in hopes it would help you feel the rhythm of the song.

Here's a practice mp3 that repeats four times, don't worry about the octaves used.

This is yet a totally different approach, I love the higher notes in this piece , that is not just a tune to me that is a piece it tells a complete story, just like Doug''s example.

I am currently having so much fun with this recording I found the right notes and can play along with it ;)

First with my heavy rubber coated metal mute on, I am waiting bit more than half an hour and I am allowed to play out loud.
