Plans are in place that scattered, or hopefully more like organized, over the next several months. Stalled out at the moment...which is kinda scary and frustrating. We actually aren't exactly behind at this point, but stalled...standing at an impasse, waiting for situations to ...just fade out or something, whatever.
Yeah, know what you mean, Peggy. We're more or less committed to moving back to California (a much more sane state, sadly), but find medical problems plaguing us currently.
Need to get back closer to family (not too close) and into a progressive care facility. As you may have noticed, I'm pretty busy lately with medical concerns about my love of my life (my wife of 55 years). Things keep us busy here with no chance to get over to look for a facility. Problems with diet are a major concern, she is afflicted with Celiac disease - meaning NO GLUTEN!.
Anyway, good luck, and could use your best wishes (no prayers, I'm not a Believer). Hoping we both can make the move soon.

Sending you and your wife positive thoughts and healing.
Celiac disease is a real bummer. I've had it since the last 25 years or so. Hope she gets better soon and you guys can get to where you wanna be, Fred. Best wishes to you both and your situation.
We've had our own health issues of various types, and the folks in the house in Tn are having really terrible health struggles at the moment, plus house problems to be fixed, car issues to get down there...etc., etc., etc. Ugh...when we moved up here we figured it would just be for a few years but we've actually spent most of our lives right here by this point. Time to move on...it ain't easy, though, is it? Let's all hope things will just work out easily...for once...lol.
Peggy, talking about places to live happily and in peace. What do you think about Harlan area, if one was not financially dependent upon the mine companies? Buy a 40, put a place in the middle. We've been down through there. Pineville looked a lot happier; but I suppose I prefer to live where time has forgotten. NW Arkansas has become the #1 place the whole world wants to move to, seems like. Doggone Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt. According to all the polls. Importing insanity.
One day, a cow pasture; next day, massive apartment developments. Yeah, we don't need all that nice soil growing hay and food--what we need is more apartments, banks, and gas stations. (that's sarcasm)

I don't know, Scott. I haven't been to Harlan Co. for several years...Walmart has for sure destroyed so much of Ky and the whole country, I guess. We used to live on the kentucky side of Jellico, TN, and the Kentucky areas were messed up by SuperWalmart, but Jellico, just over the border in TN, was still pretty nice. I don't know what those places are like by now. Pippa Passes used to be pretty nice when we left the area, Knott Co I believe. Or possibly around Rockcastle Co. I can't say anymore...it's been a long time since we left the region. Pineville might not be bad, bigger town...and you'd be close to Cumberland Gap, which we always enjoyed hiking through.
