I posted these for another purpose, but thought some here might enjoy them.

These are the first four numbers from a Highwoods show in NYC in 1977 - a double bill with our friends the Red Clay Ramblers and an enthusiastic audience. I mentioned it in a previous thread about tuning, and here you can listen for yourselves.

From a show in a small folk club in Germany, Spring, 1978.

Neither of these are "board tapes." The NY show was recorded by someone who's main business was location film sound - a pair of high quality condenser mics in front of tha band. I think the show in Germany was recorded by an audience member - there was no sound system. In both cases a lot like how our band actually sounded.

Thanks Ron. By the time of these recordings we'd been playing together for about 6 years, and were starting to get the hang of it. If you're curious, there's a documentary about our band, avaiable for free streaming here: folkstreams.net/films/dance-al...and-story
Jon - we were responsible for the narration on "Hitchhikers," but I think most of the whooping and hollering is from audience members. That was a fun night - we played for audiences of all sizes, and it was nice to play a smaller venue where you could really see the people. Our friends the Red Clay Ramblers had bought a little VW microbus which they kept in France, and we rented it from them for this little three week tour. With the five of us, instruments, and luggage we could chug along at about 80km/hr, so the Autobahn was an interesting topic to us as we watched cars go zooming by. This was in April, and there were stretches of highway covered in blossoms from flowering trees. I still remember seeing a Mercedes vertical, nose down, in an orchard next to the road!

I'm not sure, but I don't think you need it. If you follow the link I think it will show what I've shared with you, and options to install the app or go to the website. If you go to the site I think the .wav file will be right there, ready to play.
Its a little hard for me to tell, since its my account, but I think that's how it works.

That's so cool. I had a burnt CD that was given to me years ago with HWSB and that was the first old time that I had owned.
