Ok...I'm turning over a new leaf...I will CREDIT RichJ for starting my brain up with GCGC ideas...also, Chickenman...because he mentioned DDAD tuning the other day, which always sets my mind off onto ADAD, which is where I go beause the low D is just too floppy for me...but then I always tune my ADAD down to GCGC, well not always, but you know, the thought process just meanders like that sometimes. Thanks RichJ and Chickenman...I can't ever think of anything to play these days and so I'm always just grappling for some idea that gets my fiddle activated...lol.
Well anyway I told Mike to keep that coffee hot while I run downstairs this morning and try to slop my way through Midnight on the Water...haven't played it for a long time and it seemed just right to play it on thsi dreary, dark, damp and rainy morning. Now...for the rest of the Coffee...

Hey Peggy - don't mind takin' "blame" at all. In fact, I'm kinda' honored anyone listens to anything I say these days. I know my wife sure doesn't. She refers to me as that ole fool scratchin away on a fiddle in the back room. Well, not really. But, maybe sometimes. lol
Tell Amy I don't listen to half of what Mike says either...lol.
Sorry...there I go amusing myself again. No, Rich...we hear ya playin' your fiddle and it's definitely not the work of a fool. I think when we've been with the same person for several years it gets easy to just not hear them sometmes...gotta make effort to stop and listen.

Wow...that's some cold weather, Ron. I'm using a Wildwood Banjo. It was so expensive I had to sell my other three to buy that one...lol...so it's now my ONLY banjo...but it's really nice and I'm happy to have it.
Its got great tone, sounds like a vega, then again thats all to do with whos playing it.
Its very, very cold here, normally only get this in january, was minus 6 over night.
I do love my Wildwood Heirloom banjo. It's really fun to play a GOOD instrument...I've had more cheapie instruments than really good ones...so...well it's a good one to play...always fun to play it. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's super heavy, especially for an open back...I always say if the wrong person comes walking through our door, with some ill intent in mind...I can turn around, pick up that banjo, one swat with the Wildwood and he'd be helpless on the floor...lol...banjo would be untouched...I mean, it's pretty heavy, pretty rugged.
