Found it: Alice Gerrard and Andy Cahan field recording of 96? yo Luther Davis. So inspiring!

Have always really enjoyed this tune. An especially good version is played by the Old Time group Boojum (Nokosee Fields is the fiddler, (3) BOOJUM- "LILY OF THE VALLEY" - YouTube ).

Found what I wanted here... and a lot more
Luther learned much of his repertoire from Emmett Lundy iirc, he plays many of the same tunes.
Now, I'm a bit in the same camp as fiddlenerd, prefer the individuality of the playing of the old dead guys, but I don't particularly dislike the Boojum video, it's alright. Doesn't seem overly shuffle-y until it gets a little ways in and seems to speed up a little.
Either way, it's a good tune and I think I'll have to learn it.
