Some of you may know that I took up learning the fiddle as a "covid project" to see me through the long days of isolation and lock-down and, if there is a silver lining in this pandemic for me, it is that covid brought me to the fiddle. It has been a wonderful obsession and thanks to all of you who have provided so much help and encouragement to me during the lockdown.

Most of you probably don't know that I am also a teacher by profession and this, year, for the first time since the pandemic, we are back to school, face to face and with no masks or even vaccination requirement. And now, for the first time, I have covid. Just too many snot-nosed faces for my poor immune system. Lucky, I'm boosted and the symptoms are mild to moderate. Mostly it feels like a very bad cold with a bit more fatigue thrown in.

And so, now, full circle, I'm isolating in my "man-cave cum music-room," playing my fiddle all by my lonesome, because of covid, as it was in the beginning.

I'm learning "Kitchen Girl" right now, in case you're wondering.

Get well soon doryman! And enjoy your fiddle time.
And yes teachers always get infected by their kids, schools spread a lot. My sister who is a teacher also has something going on every now and then.
I caught a severe cold here and laryngitis, but I didnt go the doctor yet. Long live dafalgan codeine. But now that I read your post, I wonder . This might be covid as well...I had to cancel my very first jam session, but we will meet up soon.
