Hi all
I just did a week of workshop with my student's orchestra, it was great fun: 30 boys and girls five teacher a lot of music to play and so many violins to tune!!!!!
here's a video of the final concert, I'm conducting... hope you enjoy

Nice! We have a local classical violin teacher who would hold Irish trad music recitals with her kids from time to time. Often she would recruit local session players to join in. Gives me hope that one or two might eventually get hooked on the music!

I did not know you were a music teacher, Paolo! Did you compose the arrangement? It's really nice.

groundhogpeggy this students are from 12 to 18
NCnotes I often do arrangement for my student ensembles but in this case I had this arrangement from a friend, I did only some small changes...

That was Very well done!

I, too recognize those jigs, as well as play them. I wish my school had orchestra when I was there so many years ago--we only a band. I played trumpet throughout grade school. I remember how much mischief and trouble we gave to our director. You must have good child teacher skills as well as music skills.

thank you Scott, I'm very lucky with my students and also with our teachers team: it is really a joy to see this boys and girls so involved in making music! And I must say that when I propose Irish dance music they immediately love it, also if we are in Italy in XXI century these old dances are so powerful for young people.... Is it a sort of magic!
