10728 posts since 3/19/2009   For decades we played the tune Brandywine locally and I always thought we did a nice job on it.. THEN, I found the Kenny Baker version, notes and audio, and was blown away.. Now I have to learn THAT version... I'll never deny a simpler version's popularity but comes a time when I gotta join the Big Boys and learn their versions.. Then I'll know TWO versions of the tune..
Do you play Brandywine?

What I'll do (like in the past) is to learn the tune like Kenny plays it (or something similar) and then tweak it so it flows for ME..

I'm not one to try to sound JUST LIKE another fiddler that I admire but just want the INSPIRATION that comes from learning from them.

It is one recording on the compilation "Master Fiddler" that I have not learned. Enjoy. R/
