Every so often he'd ask the question, " have we outsmarted ourselves?"
Here's one: Remember when the phone was on the wall? That's where it was, and where it stayed. If you broke down, you walked. Then came all the cell phones. Dad had a brick, early on.
Now, the dern things have gotten so big, I've returned to leaving it in the house. If I get hurt in the barn, I gotta be able to drag myself into the house, just like the pioneers did! I feel so "retro."
