I learned this one as a college kid...yeah once I was a kid...lol...anyway we would sit around with our guitars in the grass and sing this a lot in the evenings under the huge mimosas on our tiny campus, well not just this, but this was one of many we'd do. Then a few years later when I got my one and only music employment singing ballads at the local steak house...I threw this one in the mix...it sounds like an old ballad and I played mainly old ballads. It was surprising how many people who heard it thought it was ancient...naaaaah...only as ancient as Bob Dylan. I used to think the words were just crazy, but after everything going on in the world during recent years...the crazy words actually make sense to me now...yikes. Anyway...was working on something else today and suddenly found myself singing this song under my breath...when I don't think I've even thought about it at all since the steak house in the mid 70s...so I thought to myself..."Put this stuff down...run to the presonus...sing that song!" And so i did.

At the time this song was written any song that was over a year old was relegated to the "Golden Oldies" radio show. 50 some years later, it 's definitely in "old ballad" territory. Whatever, it was good then, it's good now, it has stood the test of time, and you do it justice. Keep the ol' presonus busy!

Interesting…lol…yeah I guess it would be an old ballad by now. Where have the years flown away to? Thanks, Greg!

Dylan was a master of rewriting the old songs. Rye Whiskey Rye Whiskey Rye Whiskey I cry!
