No this ain't a recipe for an new Southern dish. Peggy's Possum Tail back up track got me to playing this tune again. Only problem was I had my fiddle tuned GDGD and decided to keep it in G. Still needing backup I went to ole' reliable Strum Machine but, this time I used one of Luke's new strum patterns which he calls "Canadian" because of the tapping feet. OK, so maybe these two don't go together but heck, their must be a few possums in Canada. In the process I decided to throw in some of my own improve for this tune and there ya' have it...Possum's Tail Mish-Mash.
PS - The photo showed up on my FB page a few hours after I posted this. Just couldn't resist adding in on..

That was cool, Rich! Great job fiddling on that. And it sounds really nice with the C. strum pattern on your Strum Machine. We'll have to ask our Canadian friends if there's possums up there...I know they have raccoons galore...there's a guy on youtube who feeds them every night on his deck...i think his channel is the raccoon whisperer or something like that...supposedly, according to him there's no cases of rabies up there where he is, so they can give him big kisses and all that stuff they do begging for hot dogs and cookies. Well but anyway I'm off topic I guess...which shouldn't surprise anybody, but yeah a good tune, nicely fiddled and a nice little mish mash of your own. We'll write up the official recipe ... baked possum and sweet taters? Naaahh...maybe just pinto beans and sweet taters while we watch the cute critters playing outside the window...lol. Nice fiddling, Rich!
