It was probably the first song I taught myself by ear on the guitar - first in C, then later, while playing around on the banjo, figured it out in D.
Then, finally, figured that I could play it in D by capping the guitar up 2 frets (this was many, many years later. [ ;)} )
I have a similar history with this one. I used to sing it and play guitar...going to whatever key my voice was comfortable with at any time...finally...yesterday I thought I should play that one on the fiddle!
That's wonderful. It's the first song I learned on the fiddle, but I can't play like you!
