I just ran across this podcast by Cameron DeWhitt on Spotify. (I don’t see it in a search here on the hangout, so sorry if it’s been covered too much.) Cameron interviews musicians in the Old Time genre. He plays clawhammer along with them in several songs during each interview. He’s up to episode 299, so lots to choose from.

I’m enjoying the discussions that cover a wide range of topics including instruments, tunes, histories, jams, tunings, etc. So far heavy on fiddlers, but last episode I listened two was two female singers who played fiddle and viola - their main focus was songs they could sing harmony on all the way through. I’m dabbling in fiddle and banjo, so am enjoying Cameron’s banjo playing, as well as the playing of his various guests.

So far, I’m loving it. Highly recommended.

Here's one I listened to awhile back. Geat interview with Nate Paine about the recently departed, legendary fiddler Jon Bekoff.

I used to check in to his podcast every week or so and somehow it slipped off my radar. Thanks for the reminder.

I really like this show! I wish they played more tunes and talked less, but sometimes their conversations go to interesting places. There are a few episodes where I suspect they got high right before recording

My favorite is the one with Judy Hyman and her husband. They both seem so chill and down-to-earth.

Yes, I found it a while back - I really like the range of musicians and ideas he gives a spotlight to. There are recordings here you won't find anywhere else, and Cameron DeWhitt kindly displays where the tunes are in the program in case you want to just zoom to those. The conversation is worthwhile too, but it's real conversation with hesitations and pauses, strange tangents, like real people do. Now and then I'll find a program and just kind of live there for a while. Thanks for the reminder

I've been listening pretty much since the beginning. My only complaint, and it's a big one, is he doesn't seem to do any research about his guests, especially those who have been around a while.
