The Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, is a choral symphony, the final complete symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed between 1822 and 1824. It was first performed in Vienna on 7 May 1824

Sounds good, with really nice double-stops!
(And even if not a typical "fiddle tune", being able to play double stops like that is going to come in handy...)

A good double stop challenge to be sure.
Good on you Ron for giving it the effort, I can't see myself even trying it!

Nice job, Ron...good double stop action there. Isn't that the European Union Anthem? I mean I know it's Beethoven's 9th, but is B's 9th the EU Anthem?

Yep, there was a thread here I remember called "Anthem of Europe" (I dunno how to link to it?) but I remember being surprised when I recognized the tune as Beethoven's "Ode to Joy**."

**had to laugh at comment on Ode to Joy Youtube:

"yo man when you droppin a new album its been 192 years already"

Yes, it was Anja who told us that. Now I remember. Haven't seen her around much lately...hope everything's going ok with her and she's back soon.

Thanks, chickenman,

Peggy yes its theEuropean union anthem which sadly from my point of view anyway, we are no longer part of.

Ihoped ome day to live in an Eu country but u fortunately that is now out of the question, well anything longer than 90 days anyway. I have been to many places in Europe and have many friends who live there, Vienna, and Rome are my 2 favourites.

Dropping out of the EU might've been a dubious step to take...and now the way things are going in the world, seems the timing of leaving was just off too. But hey, the fiddling was good...thanks for sharing.

Sliding double stops no less! You are very ambitious. My attempts to do that so far have been cringeworthy.

Walter thanks for taking a look, you are dead right double stops are hard. I am using that tune to practice them, to be honest I think I may be getting a bit too hung up on them at the moment.
