I would love to hear everyone's favorite Kenny Baker breaks! I'm trying to transcribe them to increase my bluegrass vocabulary. Also, if anyone knows where to find a copy of the DVD "Fiddle breaks and back up Kenny Baker" please let me know it seems to be pretty sold out.
I think his backup and breaks on Muleskinner Blues are great.
I actually have the VHS tape of that video but just haven't gotten around to digitizing it or even trying to watch it. I fool around with the dobro and I've learned a lot from the Josh Graves video that someone has helpfully uploaded to YouTube, also from Ridge Runner around the same time. From these Youtube clips it looks like they share the same lo-fi production values.
The muleskinner blues break has to be among the best bluegrass breaks ever on any instrument. If you ever get the chance to digitize that Kenny Baker tape and throw it up on youtube I will be forever in your debt ??
