Looking for information about a banjo builder, Andy Kardos, who built open-backs in the early 80s, I believe, in or around Swannanoa NC. He also built lap and hammered dulcimers, possibly even fiddles or other instruments. I had the good fortune of playing Old Time music with Andy on a few occasions back in the mid-70s (long time ago!). Any information about Andy's banjos or other instruments or his current whereabouts, if indeed he's still living, would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also, Andy and his wife Sue and a couple of others recorded in the late 70s an LP album of Appalachian tunes. The album was titled "Straight Furrows in Uneven Ground -- A Southern Appalachian Mountain Music Sampler." While I can locate LPs of the album, and would then have a service convert it to digital, I'd prefer getting a copy of a digital version, if indeed it exists. Thanks again.
