I recently acquired a fiddle owned and played by Cyril Stinnet from a relative of his. I'm going to put together a provenance for that relative to sign. Other than that, I'd like to hear suggestions as to what people think I should do with it. I'm in no hurry to sell it or to make money off it. I'm likely to just keep it, but I think other people might enjoy seeing it and getting to know more about what Stinnet played on. I know he was known for playing on borrowed fiddles a lot, but the story on this one seems pretty solid so far.

Well, thanks! Good to be here!
I was mostly looking for some ideas on what to do with it other than to hang it up on my wall. Likely it was his last fiddle, as I doubt he ever owned more than one, and often borrowed a fiddle to play at contests. I got it through a nephew of Pete Stinnet, who was Cyril's nephew and regular guitar backup in his later years.
If a fiddle can have juju, that one would.
I like the idea of Boxbow above. Put it in the hands of a user. Maybe put it up as the prize for a Missouri Old Time Fiddle Contest. The prize being that the winner would have possession of the fiddle for one year and then it would move on to the next winner.
Don't know who might handle the details. Could be yourself, or possibly the Missouri Old Time Fiddlers Association or some group like that.

I don't know about possession for a year, but I think it could be handled in the manner of the Ed Haley fiddle. The contest winner gets to play some tunes on the fiddle after the contest.
