A good friend is in deep isolation due to Covid-19 .. Only ONE guy can get anywhere near his home and that guy 'ain't' ME.. This friend called and said he had an Old banjo that needed some sort of attachment piece to make it work.. but he couldn't quite tell what that piece might be.. "Lee, can I have my friend bring the banjo to you and maybe you can get it working?".. I assured him that I'd be happy to look at it but could make no guarantees.. The friend brought the banjo to my house.....It is a beautiful May Bell-Queen, four string banjo... Obviously well played and loved..
Didn't take long to see that the only problem was the missing screw that holds the tail piece to the dowel rod.. and guess what.. That screw was laying on the bottom of the case...I'm thinking .."This can't be THAT easy to fix, can it?"... Well.. That was the problem. The banjo was up and running in 5 minutes..
I texted my friend..."Repair bill is "$1,000,001.........That is $1 for screwing in the tailpiece, and $1,000,000 for knowing that that was the only problem.." Don't ya just love it when things turn out well!!!?
