Have they announced Clifftop dates yet? But, yes that is probably right.. I'll play for 7 or8 days at Clifftop.. go home.. eat birthday cake, and get right back into the car!!!! Life is good..Billy, I really hope you and a lot of the Hangout regulars can also come to Battleground for a couple of days.. I know it is another 8 hour drive, but, HEY!.. you are young, life is short, and Battleground is fun......
BTW.. It is called Battleground because it is held a stones throw (literally) from a famous battle..
Here is the briefest of excerpts about the site.. "The Battle of Tippecanoe was fought on November 7, 1811, in Battle Ground, Indiana between ... So popular was Harrison's nickname that "Tippecanoe and Tyler too" became his campaign slogan and a popularized campaign song when he ..." You History buffs can check it out online for more details...
When the Indiana Fiddlers Festival started, we jammed Literally on the battle site.. Over the years we were moved about 500 feet away...

I fondly remember when the Fiddler's Gathering was on the the actual battleground. My girlfriend took me there for my first time. Figured I better marry her. Last year was the first I missed since I started going. The place is interesting from the Indian side as well with The Prophet and Tecumseh. But I also vowed to go to Clifftop this year.

You didn't miss it if they didn't have it.
I also spent a lot of time at the battleground memorial. Loved reading about Tensquatawa, the Prophet. I wrote a song about it https://www.fiddlehangout.com/myhangout/music.asp?id=163#.
Now how many of you have visited the grave yard over by the house off of Prophet Street? A lot of history there.

I listened to your song and liked it a lot. I couldn't make out all the words but I did catch a reference to Johnny Gimble, I think. I remember seeing Johnny Gimble there a long time ago. That was special. Also, there is a line about doing something to the Indians because their skin was red but I couldn't make it out? Do you remember Johnny Frigo, may he rest in peace? He wrote a song about Tippicanoe, I can hear the refrain but I don't remember much about it. I think I have a copy of the recording. I miss Frigo.
Kinda sad about the treatment of the Indians.
