Here's some Skaggs and Rice for your weekend! My brother's mandolin broke, so I've been playing a lot more fiddle, including on this song!
Hope y'all enjoy it!

Gunnar:

You are very talented. I find it hard to play the fiddle and sing at the same time. How do you do it? I like that carbon fiber guitar too.

Are you back in the US now or are you in Mozambique?

Regards,
Luke

Thanks!

I also find it difficult to fiddle and sing together, and this was the first time I did it. Basically, get an easy double stop and lock in your bow on a rhythm you don't have to think about. Then sing.

It did help that I recorded the audio separately from the video, and when I recorded the vocal audio I wasn't playing, just singing. So in the video I didn't have to sing very loudly, cuz that audio was muted in the editing.

I like this guitar a lot, it's made by journey instruments, and folds up to fit in a backpack.

I am back in Mozambique until January when I'll probably be moving to the states permanently

I was about to say there was a point where you were shuffling in the audio, but I see you say you recorded some other tracks. ;-)

Sounding good. Where will you be landing in the states, if I may ask?

Thanks!

Yeah, I wondered if anyone would notice the difference in the fiddle backup, lol.
I'll probably be staying in Texas for at least a year, until I can afford to move somewhere more musical

When you find that musical place, please tell the rest of us...lol. I'm thinking it might be North Carolina, or someplace like that where the populace just never stopped playing. I always thought texas was full of fiddlers...maybe not anymore.

I was in fact looking directly at NC  when I said someplace more musical. Maybe elsewhere, but in that general direction.

Unfortunately, even if TX was full of fiddlers, it's so big there's not much density of them. There's almost no traditional music in the SETX area, just modern pop/rock

Same here where I live. There is a lot of Bluegrass too, but it's not the kind I can enjoy much...hope you find the place that works for you!
