Here is a bunch of mostly recently composed oldtime tunes that you might want to take a crack at during these covid times
If you take a liking to them, I would be happy to help you learn them with the bowing and techniques that I use to play them
You can find 45 of them here :
The YouTube playlist that this URL points to has 45 tunes a mixture of Breakdowns, Waltzes, Rags and Slow Introspective tunes .
The tunes are in the keys of G, D, A, C and Bb . some of the tunes are in crosskey tunings. The tempos are varied. Some tunes are really easy to play some are more complex.
I am glad to respond here with any questions you have
I would be glad to supply the chordal accompaniment used on the videos if you request
Being that they are on Youtube you can go to settings and slow them down to learn them
I am available for questions at firstname.lastname@example.org please put alantunes in the subject line so that i don't miss your email
I would be honored to help you learn these tunes or any others on zoom or skype
Here's hoping that fiddling brings you as much joy as it does for me
Wow! that's so wonderful! I'll HAVE to learn some of these! I love old time music!
Hi Gang- I was just talking with Alan on FB about how the "tinyurl.com" link he posted above only seems to show "Bun in the Oven". Alan asked if I would post this link which shows all his other tunes.
... I've been listening to them for the past half hour and yet to hear one I didn't like.
