Just home from the jam. Had fun playing the bass. Had alot of people asking me to fiddle. (not to sound boastful)
Things i learned: Like any inst., the music is in the timely transition from one chord to the next. Bass is the same. Just gotta practice until you get it.
Also, bass is a comping inst. So one needs some way to make stuff to play along with. If you don't play another inst., to record and play back with, it would be much tuffer. It would be tuffer if it were the first and only inst. choice to learn, with no other music experience A never-ever would have to learn where to "fit." If a never-ever learned piano or guitar, they may never need to know this.

Listened to Candy Dulfer on the way home, to unwind. I may have to divert to Jazz violin, to maintane my sanity. Now i have a bassist in the multitrack band. smiley

Listen to recordings with the bass EQ control on your stereo turned to a minimum level. A sophisticated way to remove the bass :^)
