????In my case, probably less than ONE hour per day(7/week) ..Average..Some days more, some days less.. Lately I've been workin' on the Beaumont Rag, so I'm playing a little more, but the Covid has stressed me out just enough that I'm not playing all that much..How about you?

Same. For some reason I'm more likely to pick up my mandolin. I have hopes that something interesting will come of it in my fiddling. Mostly I'm working on accuracy of fingering. I have doubts that I've been as accurate as I would like on fiddle.

Usually none, but sometimes I saw out a tune or two. Been spending a lot of time in the garden and with other yard work. Plenty of time for fiddling when Hallowe'en rolls around.
I've also been thinking about digging out my mandolin. Its here somewhere.

Fortunately I can combine working and fiddling... my semi retired work gives me enough time to get in an hour or two each day... sometimes I have to skip a day or two but then I am back at it..... recently I have noticed my bowing and improvising getting better, another plateau on the path if the fiddle...

Our garden is IN.. harvesting peas and raspberries.. Garlic was pulled yesterday, and onions are soon to follow.. Zucchini are coming on and Broccoli and cabbage are ready to harvest... THEN, will come the beans, and tomatoes. and corn and, and, and.. Yep..Summer is gardening season ...HOWEVER, my lovely wife, Libby, loves to do the harvesting.. so I help when she wants but it doesn't keep me from fiddling.. However this season I have a left hand retinaculum injury and it has severely slowed me down.. Lots of pain, and I'm applying lots of Ice.. If it isn't one thing...it's another..

I don't keep track. Probably six or seven hours a week. By the same token, though, it's a rare day when I don't take a fiddle out of its case and do a little sawing.

I'd put it on the hook on my music stand, but one of my cats would surely bat the thing off.  What's worse, they'd chew on the bow.

And oh yeah. It always seems to be termite season in these parts.

I play a couple hours per day.  I'm a beginner and wake up in the morning wanting to play my fiddle.   My banjos don't get much play nowadays.

I keep my fiddles and banjos on a bed in a unused bedroom, ready to go.  One fiddle in standard tuning and the other in AEAE.  I may grab a fiddle several times a day.

Fiddle playing is about all I do anymore.  No gardens.  Heck, we don't even have any trees or shrubs on the place.  Anything planted around here gets "grazed" by deer and antelope.  Much cheaper to buy food at a store for us.

A couple hours a day usually. A little less now that I'm not getting out to play with others.

Not every day. Most days. Maybe start with a guitar. Maybe a fiddle. Still quite in love with the sound of a piano. Two or three hours slip away.

Between all the instruments about 1-1.5 hours a day and then jamming once or twice a week.

I would say an hour more or less, (usually more) and 2 30 minute sessions during the day with the mando and banjo.

An hour or an hour and a half most days. Occasionally I get too busy to play at all... Generally those are not fun days. R/

Fiddle I'd say a couple of hours a week right now. I've been on a guitar binge for the last several months, easily 3 plus hours per day on that. A friend gave me a very beat up, but still completely functional 1951 Martin D18 recently, I can't put it down.

A week? Two maybe. Tuesday I went into the studio to record some mandolin for a guy. Next Monday we're doing the same plus some fiddle. That means I'm playing fiddle a lot this weekend.
My first love, the guitar, had gotten more attention this spring than I've given her in the last seven eight years.

I leave my fiddle out every day and grab it up every chance I get to saw out a note or two. Try to do serious practice at least 4 or 5 times a week

Doug, when you talk about gardening and then say you're thinking of digging up your mandolin...got me wondering if you've got yourself a patch of mandos growing there!

Well I never play any music. Lots of gardening...and then, since my daughter and her husband and son live next door and they never go anywhere because of a lot of reasons they need to avoid covid, and we never go anywhere for the same reason...so I spend a lot of time trying to play with grandson because he's pretty much the only kid in a lonely world at the moment. Then just seems like a lot to do around here, making up for how we tore everything up building the big retaining wall and dealing with the hillside and all the problems it brings.

I play only during the times I sit down with my Presonus machine. If I just think up a tune I feel like playing and don't really know it, I make a pot of coffee, take instruments, one-by-one down with me and my coffee, and sit right there and either play the tune or learn the tune as I record it on the Presonus. That's it...my fingers have no calluses anymore...well, hardly any. Don't play much, but really have fun playing and/or learning when I do get the chance with my Presonus.

Lately, the fiddle's mostly been sitting around and gathering dust. However, I have been scratching a new tune around on it (Dwight Lamb's Accordion Quadrille #2, if ya wanna know!) so its been getting some attention these past few days.

Normally, I would play 4-5 hours per week, but in the last few weeks, I've really fallen off. I just haven't had as much interest in playing for some reason, part of which I think may be a result of feeling disconnected from my musical community because of COVID-19 restrictions. Anyone else feeling that?

Totally. I'm in 4 bands and only one has gotten together since mid March. That one practiced twice then "performed" for a Zoom barn dance. Totally boring playing for one couple that did not touch and walked around each other in various ways. Would have preferred to jam three times and had no gig.

Edit to add a "y" to the first word since for some reason it was blank after posting.

I play every day for an hour or more, usually at the very end of the day. I haven’t missed a day in a long time. I have a favorite spot on the couch and I usually play myself to sleep. Haven’t dropped or broke anything yet, been lucky I guess. Some mornings I play a little also.

Anywhere from 1/2 and hour to 2 hours. A little less than I'd like to, but my daughter is home from college now and sometimes she likes to do music too (uke, guitar, piano), so we trade off a bit. She sleeps late, which means I can make noise then. :) I'm busy most of the time anyway - I'm not sure how so many people are getting "bored." My husband still works regular hours, and I prefer to have the house to myself when I practice, mostly, so that works well, and he plays music too (guitar, etc.), so we all try to give each other space to work.
