Probably get hammered for messing with a Celtic tune written by no one less than OCarolan himself. Cross tuned to FCFC earlier today and somehow this tune got stuck in my head and couldn't stop playing it. Gave it a whirl on the Personus gadget so now y'all can take a shot. Have no mercy, I deserve whatever I get.

That's a beautiful tune! Nice job on that, Rich...the low mellow tones and drones really fit in, don't they? I've never heard that one before, but i sure do like it...very nice.

Sounds like...are you double stopping in one little part there? Sounds like it. Very nice job...I absolutely love the tune.

Peggy - I think most of those were drones rather than double stops. I really should spend more time  working on a tune before uploading. I only fooled around with that one for an hour or so before making the recording. It came out pretty rough, not nearly doing justice to this very simple, beautiful and haunting tune. Playing in F and FCFC cross gives a special mood to this tune which I don't hear when it's done in standard/ key of D. Maybe I should try GDGD to see what happens there.

Well I've never heard the tune before, but I thought it sounded really beautiful as played by you. If it's normally done in D, you could also try ADAD tuning and see what happens there, or step it down some if you wanna keep that mellow tone to it...and try something like GCGC ...

Well done Rich. I like doing things like that also but I haven't gone public yet! As an ex-bluegrass banjo player I have been experimenting putting some of those waltz tempo Scruggs type rolls into Carolan tunes. They seem to fit quite well.

Hi Hector, thanks for the complement. Don't hold back "Fusion" doesn't only apply to food.
