I just bought an old Maginni model fiddle that has a 37 cm back length and is 60.3 cm long. It won't shoehorn into my Bobelock cases. I'm looking for a good solid but not too $$ case. I go to jam sessions and festivals and am not likely to fly with it so decent but not professional protection is what I'm looking for. Also I like to keep the Bonmusica shoulder rest in the case (it fits in the Bobelock D and oblong cases).

It looks from the specs like Bam is the only company whose cases will accommodate it but I'd rather pay less. Does anyone know of any other decent modern cases that will work?

Look at a small viola case.... they are not much bigger than a regular violin case and it will give you the room you need..

Turns out Fiddlershop has one that isn't listed on their website. They use it for their Maggini model but they will sell it separately and it's reasonable.

The Bobelock fiberglass dart shaped case is my go-to for large violins.

The GEWA Pure violin case has an adjustable neck brace that fits in with velcro. They’re not expensive and they’re lightweight. We’ve sold a lot of them at the shop over the last year or two.
