I just recently returned from The Eighth of January Workshops, held each year around that time in Pegram Tn. Erynn Marshall was one of the instructors, and taught this tune, The Oaks They Do Entwine, which is from her and Carl Jones latest CD, called Old Tin. I'm telling you, you need to own this CD! So this haunting tune makes absolute perfect use of dissonance. The E string is tuned down to D, to provide that wonderful, raise the hair on the back of your neck, sound to the B part. I'm starting to get close to it. And Erynn, if you're part of this forum, Thanks so much for your workshops, and just being so accessible and helpful. Hopefully again next year. Here's The Oaks They Do Entwine.
That's a good tune, well interpreted and played.
